A BRIEF WRITE UP ABOUT ‘ONE NATION READING TOGETHER’ EVENT’.

25th November 2016, ‘One Nation Reading together’, an annual event, was observed under the aegis of Scholastic India at Tatachem D.A.V. Public School Babrala with full zeal and enthusiasm. On this occasion many events were organized for different classes depicting importance of reading. Classes III-V made very creative bookmarks. Classes VI-VIII gave vent to their innovative ideas by writing slogans and thoughts on the importance of reading. Similarly, classes IX-X made very attractive cover pages. All the activities were aesthetically displayed in the school auditorium during a special assembly called for the purpose. To enhance the habit of reading among students a short skit was also staged by Vaishnavi, Sakshi Mathur, Anchal, Manasi, and Kaptan of class IX and Kriti Goel of class X. Vidushi Yadav and Saltanat Khan of class IX administered the pledge sent by scholastic India. They also conducted a reading session of an important lecture of Swami Vivekananda at the World Parliament of Religions in 1893 in Chicago and a famous poem of Robert Frost-‘Stopping By woods on a Snowy evening.’ The programme was nicely anchored by Vidushi Yadav and Saltanat Khan. The undersigned appreciated the efforts of the students and the teachers and inspired them to read more and more books. The Event was attended by all the teachers, students and principal of TCDAV. All the students participated in the event wholeheartedly.
