CLASSES LKG to II
|
|
No formal examination will be conducted for the students of classes LKG to II. There will be a continuous and comprehensive assessment of growth and development of child in various areas of learning in curriculum.

CLASSES III to VII : (As per DAV Guidelines)
(a) Term - 1 Examination : 60 /80 Marks ( Reduced to 40 Marks)
Unit Test : 30 Marks
Internal Assessment: 30 Marks
Total : 40 + 30 + 30 = 100
(b) Term -2 Examination ( Syllabus taught after Term 1): 60/80 Marks( Reduced to 40 Marks)
Unit Test : 30 Marks
Internal Assessment: 30 Marks
Total : 40 + 30 + 30 = 100

The students of classes IX and X will be assessed as per following manner;

2.Co-Scholastic Activities:
|
School will promote co-curricular activities for holistic development of student. These activities will be graded on 5- point grading scale ( A to E) and will have no descriptive indicators. No upscaling of grades will be done.

Health and Physical Activity preferably sports must be given a regular period to create physical fitness, discipline, sportsmanship, patriotism, self-sacrifice & health care etc. Students will be provided opportunities to get trained in the area of interest in Sports, Yoga and NCC etc.

3. Discipline ( Attendance, Sincerity, Behaviour, Values)
Class Teacher will be responsible for grading the students on 5 point grading scale (A-E).
|
4. General Terms and Condition for Promotion to next higher class
|

Presence in the written examination is compulsory.The student who abstains himself due to any reason including medical in the written Test/ Examination will be marked zero. Retest / re-examination will not be conducted under any circumstances.

In order to be eligible for appearing in the Final Examination minimum 75% attendance is required.
-
To qualify in a subject under scholastic areas a candidate must obtain minimum 33% excluding additional subject in classes III to X.
-
Those candidates who have obtained less than 33% in subjects under scholastic area shall have to improve their performance to qualify the subject(s) as per the following criteria.
|
(i) The students of classes III to V who have obtained less than 33% in main subjects may be allowed to improve their performance.
|
(ii) The students of classes VI to VII who have obtained less than 33% in main subjects (in Max. two subjects) may be allowed to
improve their performance.
|
(iii) The promotion criteria in Classes VIII -X as per DAV/ CBSE Board guidelines.
|
(iv) The students of class IX and X who have obtained less than 33% in main subjects may be allowed to improve their performance as
per new guidelines of CBSE .
|
(vi) No student will be eligible to get admission in next higher class untill he / she gets mimimum 33% marks in ecah subject.
|
5. Student getting less than 33% marks in main subjects for two consecutive years in the same class (even after availing the chance
of improvement) will not be allowed to continue in the school and have to widthdraw from the school.
|
NOTE:
Examination system as well as Promotion Policy can be revised as per latest instructions / guidelines / circulars of CBSE/DAV Board.
